Judith Jane McAllister was born in Salina Kanas on December 29, 1941 and passed away on September 11, 2022, in Houston, after a long battle with dementia. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary Jane Mosher and Ward Carl Hilton, and husband Rodney Hugh McAllister.

Having spent most of her life in Houston, she was always a Kansas girl at heart by remaining close to her childhood friends in Salina and by attending her high school reunions.

She started at Kansas State University and graduated from Marymount College Loyola, in Salina, with a degree in Elementary Education. While enrolled at Marymount she met her husband Rodney Hugh McAllister, a Captain in the United States Airforce, stationed at Schilling Airforce base in Salina. They married in Salina on May of 1963. After they married, they had several posts across the country until her husband left the Airforce and returned to Scottsdale Arizona to resume his degree in mathematics at Arizona State, and where Judy would be close to her in-laws, John and Grace Mcallister. It was during this time that Judy began her career in education as an elementary teacher in Scottsdale which supported her family at the time.

Upon her husband's graduation he accepted a job with Amoco Oil and relocated to Houston where they raised their three children. It was while raising her children in Houston that she became lifelong friends with her neighbors, by lending support to each other during floods and other difficult times. They also enjoyed many good times together, celebrating annual Christmas parties, graduations, and their children's weddings.

Throughout her marriage and raising her children she taught elementary school. Her career included working in the Houston Independent School District and the Catholic school system. She retired at St. Anne's Catholic school in Tomball, Texas in 2004. She truly loved the little ones!

She was a devout Catholic devoting much of her time to the Eucharistic ministries and Bible studies at Prince of Peace. As a widow she made a new life for herself in the church of Prince of Peace. She made great friendships within the church community. She also rekindled her skill and passion for bridge while learning to play mahjong as well. During these pursuits she made many new friends. Her loyalties to her friends were repaid in kind as she began her battle with dementia.

Judy thoroughly enjoyed making new friends, she also loved animals too. She would often foster stray cats and find them new homes. The apple of her eye was her beloved Shih-tzu, Buddy. She instantly bonded with him the minute she held him for the first time as a puppy. Her next love was her cat Meghan, she fostered before joining the family.

Judy is survived by her three children: Michelle (Tom) Clark, of Chicago; Katherine (Henry) Morlock, of Chicago; and John (Kim) McAllister of Houston. Also, he two brothers, Doug (Linda) Hilton, of Plymouth Michigan; Dean (Dee) Hilton, of Wichita Kansas and her cousin, Stephanie Dahlberg, Ray; Liberty, Missouri. She also has 4 grandchildren, Thomas, Robert, Alex, and Nicholas.

Finally, Judy had a charitable spirit and volunteered or donated to Northwest Assistance Ministries of Houston. In lieu of flowers; https://www.namonline.org/ . She will be missed.
