Judith Ann Healey Hatfield, lovingly known as Judy, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, in true Irish fashion, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on September 29, 1943, in San Francisco, California, to David A. Healey and Margaret E. O'Connor Healey.

Judy grew up alongside her beloved older brother, David H. Healey, with whom she shared a lifelong bond. She graduated from San Francisco College for Women and went on to pursue a career in teaching—a profession she cherished deeply and to which she devoted her heart and talents.

Later, Judy moved to San Antonio, Texas, where she met the love of her life, Daniel C. Hatfield. The two were married on February 22, 1969, beginning a devoted partnership that would span decades. Together, they raised two children, David C. Hatfield and Danielle Eileen Hatfield.

In her later years, Judy relocated to Houston, Texas, to be closer to her children and grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Wade Clifton Hatfield, son of David, and to Emily Eileen and Isabel Elyse Howell, daughters of Danielle and her husband, Paul Howell. Judy adored her grandchildren beyond measure and treasured every moment spent with them.

Judy also held a special place in her heart for her brother, David H. Healey, whose passing in 2024 was a profound loss in her life.

A woman of strength and grace, Judy faced significant health challenges in her final years. She fought a courageous battle with COPD for over a year before being diagnosed with cancer in January 2026. Even in the face of adversity, she met her illness with dignity, courage, and acceptance.

Judy will be remembered for her warmth, her devotion to family, her love of teaching, and her resilient spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
