Judith Martin Hatcher, loving mother and beloved Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, passed away on November 24, 2020 at the age 80.

Judith was born January 26, 1940 in Middlesboro, Kentucky.  She graduated Class of 1958 at Middlesboro High School and attended the University of Tennessee—Knoxville and graduated from East Tennessee State University.  She began teaching in Sullivan County, Tennessee and continued, after raising four children, to teach in Aldine Independent School District in Houston, Texas.

Judith was an avid reader, amateur genealogist, and historian.  Her hobbies included reading, sewing, gardening, and genealogy. Judith's passion for history led her to plan family vacations around historic battlefields, graveyards, libraries, historical landmarks and churches.  Her love of history led into a four  decade long extensive familial genealogical research project.

Judith is survived by her four children: daughter Deborah Catharine Hatcher Armel, of Houston, Texas, son Richard Thomas Hatcher, of Magnolia, Texas, son Robert Edward Hatcher, of Tomball, Texas, and daughter Susan Frances Hatcher Knight and husband James, of Cypress, Texas; her sister, Frances Martin Strickler, and husband, Dewey of Franklin, Kentucky; her sister-in-law Margaret Martin of Reidsville, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Thomas Joseph Armel, and wife, Amalia, Sarah Elizabeth Armel Masterson, and husband, Rivers, Kylie Nicole Hatcher, James Howard Knight III, and Jacob Andrew Knight; her great grandchildren, Rivers Armel Masterson and Olivia Maya Armel; her nieces and nephews, Candace and Armando "Sonny" Diaz Jr. , Karole and Frank Smith, Robert Grayson  and Debbie Martin, Steven Blair Martin, Jordan and Dawn Strickler, Richard Jeffrey and Leigh Ann Martin, Jennifer and Todd Howerton, and Karen and Zach Harris. Judith was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Earle Buchanan Martin, and her brothers, Richard Harold Martin, and Robert Alfred Martin.
