Obituary

Judith Louise Grzecka Martin-Gherdovich, passed away on April 14, 2024, in Tomball, Texas, at the age of 86 surrounded  by her loving family. Judy was born on July 2, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois. She was known for her warm and compassionate nature, which shone through during her 40-year career as a Registered Nurse. Judy's nurturing spirit touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Judy was a devoted mother to Denise Milby (Ramage), Steven Martin, Roland Mattback (Sanna), Lynn Nelson (Clyde) and Karen Martin. She adored her grandchildren: Christopher Martin, Lauren Richter, Garrett Nelson, Ashleigh Schmidt, William Milby, Grant Nelson, and Allison Blackledge. Her great-grandchildren, Beau, Colt, Scarlett, Avery, and Max brought her immense joy. Judy is also survived by her brothers Tom Grzecka, Tim Grzecka, Terry Grzecka, and Michael Pastiak, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Grzecka and Katherine Violet Pastiak, her husband's Darrell W. Martin and George B Gherdovich, her brother Jeff Grzecka, her niece Elizabeth Grzecka-Johnston, and her 1st great-grandchild, Addie Rhea Schmidt.

She always said the best gift she ever received was her grandchildren.

She had a warm and loving and oh so funny personality and touched everyone she met. Always the life of the party she was always the first to get there and the last to leave and when she had her own parties she was always "the hostess for the mostest!"

Judy's faith was an important part of her life. She was raised Catholic and attended Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church before becoming a member of Saint Anne's Catholic Church in Tomball.

In her free time, Judy enjoyed sewing and embarking on exciting travel adventures, with her trip to Alaska being a cherished memory.

A graveside service will be held Friday, April 26, 2024, at 10:30 am at Klein Memorial Park Cemetery (249 location), where all are welcome to pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Vantage Hospice at 5718 Westheimer Rd. Suite 1650, Houston, TX 77057. Please indicate "caring hearts – Judy Gherdovich" in the memo line.
