Judith Mae Esis Buczkowski, 79, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away gracefully—as was her style—surrounded by her family and returned to the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father on Sunday evening, January 5, 2025.

Born in Munising, Michigan, to Fred and Clare Esis, Judy moved to Buffalo, New York, with her family at the age of three. It was in Buffalo where Judy met the love of her life, John R. Buczkowski, at a local playground when they were in seventh grade. Their love story blossomed, and they began going "steady" in eighth grade, laying the foundation for a lifetime of devotion. After high school, Judy earned her associate's degree from Bryant and Stratton College and later married John in 1967, following the conclusion of his military service.

Judy's career began at Texaco, with administrative roles in Buffalo, New York, and New York City. Her husband's career took their family to Cherry Hill, New Jersey, where Judy dedicated herself to being a loving mother while also working part-time at an animal hospital. In 1983, another job transfer led the family to Houston, Texas, where Judy served as office manager for Discount Tire's regional office for 23 years. Her dedication, warmth, and nurturing style left a lasting impression on her many colleagues and friends alike.

Judy's greatest passion and love was her family. She was the heart of every gathering, ensuring there was always plenty to eat, laughter to share, and love to go around. She cherished crafting, scrapbooking, traveling, family gatherings on Sundays, and Pizza Nights. Judy also had a keen eye for treasures and loved hunting for antiques and collectibles with John on their impromptu road trips. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she meticulously documented her plans to ensure everyone felt equally loved and celebrated year after year.

Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, John R. Buczkowski; her children, John M. Buczkowski (Shawna) of Tomball, TX; Joy M. Griggsby (Troy) of Spring, TX; and Jeff M. Buczkowski of Spring, TX; and her grandchildren, Justin (Rachel), Hailey, Hanah, Brendan, Aidan, Lily, Reese, Lyla, and Ethan. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Jaxsyn, Adelaide, Olivia, and Mckinnon; her brother, Fred Esis (Trudy) of Attica, NY; as well as numerous godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred M. and Clare J. Esis of Buffalo, NY, and her brother, David C. Esis (Christopher) of Orchard Park, NY.

Judy's family invites all who knew and loved her to a celebration of her remarkable life. Visitation will be held from 5–8 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Klein Funeral Home – Champions in Spring, TX. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church in Spring, TX, with a committal service immediately following at Houston National Cemetery.

Pallbearers include her grandsons, Tim Connors, and George Ozuniga.

Judy's boundless love, joy, and selflessness will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
