Obituary

Judith Anna Cody was born in Alva, Oklahoma on February 29, 1948, and passed away in Houston, Texas on May 31, 2025.

She met and married the love of her life, Bert, in 1968. She graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing with her RN in 1970. Upon graduation, Judy and Bert moved to Houston prior to their final move to Magnolia. She was a long-time member of Salem Lutheran Church, Tomball, TX. Her hobbies included sewing, reading, and her most favorite activity was spending time with her family.

Judy is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bert Cody, and her children, Rev. William Michael Cody (Kianna) of Wichita Falls, TX, Rev. Richard Scott Cody (Michelle) of St. Joseph, MO, and Susan Jenine Sewalt (Ryan) of Tomball, TX; and her eight grandchildren, Ryan, Kathryn, Kyle, Cameron, Rhett, Tige, Jake, and Brooke; and five great-grandchildren, Grayson, Sterling, Ezekiel, Eliza, and Ezmae; Sister, Janice Hatcher; brother, Jim Shirley of Arizona; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Gerry Shirley.

A service for Judy will be held at 2pm on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main, Tomball, TX 77375 and can be viewed at the link below. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at 1pm, prior to the funeral service.  She will be laid to rest in Klein Memorial Park on FM 249 immediately following the funeral.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
