Mrs. Judith C. Hogg, "Judy", passed unexpectedly at The Barton House on May 14, 2018 in Sugarland, Texas at the age of 76. Many hearts are broken.

Judy is survived by her two sons; Mark Murray and his wife Melissa and their three children; Cooper, Cortney, and Carson, all of Houston, Texas; and Philip Murray and his wife Kathleen and their son Jack of Buda, Texas. She is preceded in death by her Mother, Wilma Close; Father, Harold Close; and Husband, Henry Hogg, "Clay".

Judy was born Louisburg, Kansas, on September 8, 1941, graduating from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas. Her creative persistence and sense of independence and adventure led her to a job as a Stewardess with United Airlines, based for a time in New York City. She married and gave birth to sons Mark Murray and Philip Murray, eventually settling in the Spring, Texas area. Judy was later remarried to Clay Hogg, welcoming his sons Chad Hogg (and later, Chad's wife Cristl Hogg), and Tucker Hogg.

Judy kept the simple joys of life as close as she could: family, friends, travel, pets, and the happy arts of dressing well and beautifully decorating a home.

She loved her two boys, and enjoyed a swift- paced life as she raised them. In time, Judy glowed with pride for the arrival of her four grandchildren, praising every milestone. She loved to see them, or simply talk with them over the phone. Through the year, Christmas gifts for grandchildren were thoughtfully collected and stored away.

Judy lovingly cared for her mother, Wilma Close, when she moved to Texas later in life.

Judy treasured a selection of dearly loved friends, who remained steadfast and devoted advocates through the years. She loved getting together with them, whether just visiting a moment, meeting for lunches, a game of golf, or longer trips, as often as she could manage.

During the holidays, Judy casually presented some grandly decorated holiday events, and was thrilled to have her house warmed by family and friends.

Judy was a traveler, and her jobs often put her in motion. She liked to get out of the house- to walk the dog, for shopping, going on a cruise, or overseas, it was her joy to get out and see the world among loved ones. At home, she was rarely without the companionship of a variety of well-fed dogs and cats

Judy's personality impressed and influenced anyone to come within her reach. If she needed assistance in a store, she could effortlessly deputize a startled passer-by into serving her with a few authoritative words. Whether employees or innocent fellow shoppers, it hardly mattered to Judy. Immovable in her convictions, her friends and family knew that this same stubborn resolve was also the strength she used to hold on to them.
