Joyce Evelyn Stevens Strange, 83, of Tomball, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on February 19, 2026. Born on June 30, 1942, in Houston, Texas, Joyce was the beloved daughter of James Homer Long and Ruth Ellen Bradley Long.
In 1962, she married the love of her life, Robert Stevens, and together they built a home filled with laughter, faith, and three cherished children: Dwayne, Sheryl, and Todd. After Robert's passing, Joyce found companionship and joy once again when she married Tommy Strange in 2021.
Joyce spent the majority of her professional career in banking, where her integrity, leadership, and warm spirit left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike. She was honored to serve with Leadership North Houston, Tomball Business and Professional Women, Tomball ISD Education Foundation and was a dedicated volunteer with TOMAGWA. She faithfully gave her time and energy to support her community.
A faithful follower of Jesus Christ, Joyce devoted her life to serving others. She was a true prayer warrior whose faith anchored her family and inspired all who knew her. Joyce loved her family fiercely and never met a stranger. She delighted in conversations with everyone she encountered, often turning simple moments into meaningful connections. Spontaneous and adventurous, she was always eagerly anticipating her next journey or gathering with loved ones.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Homer Long; her brother, James Long; her first husband, Robert Stevens; her second husband, Tommy Strange; and her beloved son, Dwayne Stevens.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: sister, Carolyn McLain and husband, Arville; sister-in law, Jeanette Long; sister-in-law, Debbie Woodward and husband Billy; daughter, Sheryl Childs and husband Bill; son, Todd Stevens and wife Sandra; daughter-in-law, Alisha Stevens; stepson, Tommy Lee Strange and wife Stephanie; stepdaughter, Kimberly Handley and husband Chad.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Brent Childs; Brittany Robinson and husband Josh; Morgan Childs and fiancé Chris Foster; Cameron Stevens; Emma Stevens; Hannah Stevens; Addison Stevens; Chloe Stevens; Jonathan Strange and wife Megan; Morgan Neaves and husband Patrick; Ashley Handley.
She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Liam Shipley, Cid Foster, Reese Robinson, Nash Robinson, Mollie Childs; Mason Strange, and numerous nieces and nephews each of whom brought her immeasurable joy.
Joyce's life was a testament to unwavering faith, boundless love, and joyful service. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, the entire Tomball community and beyond. Her light, her prayers, and her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
