JOYCE EDWARDS ENGEL, of Magnolia, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, March 15, 2017, at the Tomball Rehab and Nursing Center in Tomball, Texas. She was born November 2, 1929 in Parris Island, South Carolina, to Eva Smith and Aubrey Edwards.

Joyce enjoyed a long career with the United States Post Office, was active in her church community, a friend to many, and made the world's best pies and cookies. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bruce Engel; her daughter, Terri Golas and her husband Steve; her son, Tom Engel and his wife Cherlyn; grandchildren Cameron Engel and Kristen Whittaker and her husband, Anthony; sister, Eve Heavner, and nephews John Delaney and Tim Heavner. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Audrey Delaney and June Edwards.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Magnolia United Methodist Church in Magnolia, Texas, celebrated by Pastor David Meeker-Williams. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Magnolia United Methodist Church, 419 Commerce Street, Magnolia, TX 77355.
