Joshua is survived by his loving parents, Steven and Kim Gillihan; grandmother, Maria Balderas; cousin as close as a aunt and uncle, Karen and Darrell Vicknair; cousins as close as brothers, Logan Vicknair, Landon Vicknair, and Lane Vicknair; aunt, Carla Williams and husband Brad; cousin, IvyAnn; great-uncles, Rick Doyle and wife Caroline, Kelly Doyle and wife Lisa, Bobby Doyle and wife Virginia, Gerald Gutierrez, and Richard Rocha and wife Lynn; great-aunts, Tina Neff and husband Van, and Corina Brown and husband Rick; and many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Joshua, "Josh", was an extremely intelligent, funny, and adorable boy with so many people that loved him. He was the light and love of his parents. He was their world. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and loved his family deeply.
Josh loved cars and he got this love from his PawPaw Wayne and his mom. He was a terrific dirt bike rider and loved to do this with his dad. Josh earned his black belt from Taekwondo after years of hard work and dedication. Josh loved going camping, going to the beach, and going on the boat with his parents. He loved wake boarding and snow skiing. Josh loved going to Disney World with his family and friends and loved sharing how to have the most fun there. He played baseball, soccer and basketball as a younger boy and was a great athlete and teammate.

Josh attended Ault Elementary, Salyards Middle School and had just completed his very first week as a freshman at Bridgeland High School and was ready to celebrate his very first Homecoming with his first Homecoming date.

Joshua will be deeply, deeply missed. We will never understand why Josh was taken from us on this side of eternity, but Josh had given his life over to Christ and was baptized, so we know he is safe in the arms of Jesus and we are assured we will see him again.
