Josetta Elaine Smith, 81, of Houston, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023.  She was born April 26, 1942, in Bryan, Texas, to Ross and Rosie Scanlin.

Josetta was a Girl Scout troop leader for many years and a member of the Houston Aggie Moms' Club. She loved traveling and RVing. She has made numerous trips abroad and visited all 50 states. Over the years she has enjoyed the weekends spent with our fantastic Aggie tailgating family at Texas A&M during football season.  She was a loving wife, mother, and sister who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jerry Paul Smith; daughter, Janna Lenz; son, Jeffrey Paul Smith; sister, Marlene Bailey; sister, Karen Berryman and husband Gary; numerous nieces and nephews; and also her grand-dog Avery.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Rosie Scanlin, and mother-in-law, Charley Smith.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, November 29, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home - CyFair Northwest, 9719 Wortham Blvd., Houston, TX 77065.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 30, in the funeral home chapel.  Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 2811 Old Kurten Road, Bryan, Texas 77803.

Serving as pallbearers are Edmond Bailey, Michael Ward, Brandon Berryman, Larry Wischnewsky, Steven Thorin, and Bradley Lenz.
