Obituary

Josephine "Josie" Gerhard, 97, of Spring, Texas, passed away
peacefully on August 10, 2022. Josephine was born February 18, 1925,
and had resided in Portland and Corpus Christi, Texas for many years.
She moved to Spring, Texas in 1994.

Josie never met a stranger, and lived her life joyfully, and to the
fullest. She was a previous member of Catholic Daughters, holding
many official titles. She was also very involved with the Northwest
Women's Club, F.A.N., and Chapter II. She loved to travel, enjoyed the
arts, particularly the theatre and ballet. She also delighted in playing
card games and Mah Jongg. Although she enjoyed joyful fellowship
with her friends and family, Josie was most committed to Education.

This bible verse is a perfect description of her: "She is clothed with
strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future."
Proverbs 31:25 (NIV)

Josie is survived by her children, Juliette Brown, Saleem (Carmen)
Tawil, Vivian Kromer, Diana (Patrick) Afflerbach and Andrew F.
Gerhard, III, 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Including her parents, Josie was preceded in death by her husband,
Andrew F. Gerhard, Jr., daughter, Mary Ann Bouyer, grandson, Robert
Bouyer, son-in-law, James Kromer, sister Renee Mardini, and brothers
Joseph Alto and Jessie Alto.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 17, 2022, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm
at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, Texas
77379, with the Holy Rosary to be prayed at 6:30 pm. A Funeral Mass
will be celebrated with Fr. Jose Kumblolickal on Thursday, August 18,
2022, at 11:00 am at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, 7810
Cypresswood Drive, Spring, Texas. 77379. Internment to follow in
Klein Memorial Park 2920.

Serving as pallbearers are: James Brian Kromer, Michael Scott Dean,
Robert Horton, Glenn Abernathy, Stewart Mill, and Kevin Wilhelm.

Honorary pallbearers are: Saleem Tawil, Andrew F. Gerhard III, and
Patrick Afflerbach.
