Josephine Mattie Wetuski Fitzgerald passed away on Monday, Sep tember 29, 2019 .

Josephine was known as Mom, Mama , or Aunt Jo to all who knew her in her 91 y ears of life.  Josephine was born on July 3, 1928 in Dobbin, Texas.  She was t he daughter of Joe Wetuski and Francis Kitkotski Wetuski .

After being raised on a farm , Josephine graduated from Montgomery High School on May 19, 1947, making her the first high school graduate in her family.

Josephine met her husband, Eugene , on a blind date in 1947 and they were married on April 4, 1953.  They were married for 42 years until she lost her beloved "Gene".

Following graduation , Josephin e moved to Houston , Texas .  S he worked for the County Agriculture Ag ent, First City National Bank in San Jose (in Cali fornia where her husband was stationed in the Navy) , KTRH Radio, KPRC Radio and TV , and T exas Tubing and Supply before finding her calling in December 1957 at Humble Oil and Refining in Houston, Texas.  Josephine continued to work for Humble, Enjay Chemical, Exxon Chemical , and Exxon Chemical Americas until her retirement on July 31, 1986.

Josephine was preceded in death by her f ather and mother Joe and France s, her brother Archie Joe Wetuski , her husband Eu gene Fitzgerald, her oldest son Ronald Eugene Fitzgerald , and her granddaughter Jessica Rach el Fitzgerald.   She is survived by her sister Alma Lee Smith, son Larry Wayne Fitzgerald , son Robert James "Bobby" Fitzgerald and partner Linda Hagan , her granddaughter Elissa Michelle Fitzgerald Mazza and husband Brian Mazza and granddaughter Kristina Brooke Fitzgerald Baldridge and husband Noah Baldridge , along with numerous nephews, nieces , and cousins.

Josephine had two special dreams, that her sons receive a Catholic e ducation and that they graduate from college.  Married to a Protestant , the Cathol ic education looked slim , but Josephine convinced her husband that Larry and Bobby would go to Catholic school which they did and to her enjoym ent both graduated from Texas A & M University.

After retirem ent from Exxon Chemical America s, Josephine was able to enjoy her true passion – floral design .  From 1988 to 1990, she owned and operated Pinehurst Garden and Gift Shop with her niece , Frances . With her love of flowers and plants , she spent the next five years providing flower and plant arrangements for Garden Ridge and Wal-Mart .  Josephine then went to work for Robert Klein at the Klein Grocery Store in Tomball, Texas where she spent her time in the floral de partment creating beautiful homecoming mums, corsages , and wedding arrangements.

The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Zulma Jimenez who has been Josephine's friend, caretaker , and houseke eper for over 24 years.  Also , the family wish es to thank Manuel Fiscu and the staff at Memory Lane Assisted Living in Magnolia , Texas for their tirel ess help and assistance in Josephine's last months of her life.

A visitation will be held at Klei n Funeral H ome located at 1400 W. Main Street, Tomball, Texas from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 with a Vigil and the reciting of the Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm.

A Cat holic Mass will be held at St. Anne' s Catholic Church at 1111 Cherry Street, Tomball, Texas at 11:30 am on Thursday, October 3, 2019 to celebrate J osephine's life.
