Joseph Larry Walton, age 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2024, surrounded by his immediate family. At 12pm, Larry was ushered to heaven by a host of angels and greeted by his Lord  & Savior, Jesus Christ.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Kisha Goldvarg and her husband (son-in-law), Eric Goldvarg. His one grandson, Koty Goldvarg, his beloved wife, Monica Goldvarg, and six great-grand children, Samuel, Thomas, John, Reverly, Joshua, and Hazel.  His sister, Karen Crawford, her son (nephew), Sean Briand, and his wife, Brittany Briand, their daughters, Canyonn Harrison, Karolynn Brooke, Madelynn Jean and extended family members.

Born on a bright November day in 1948 in Houston, Texas, Larry brought joy to his parents, Joseph Albert and Helen Azel Walton.

A natural people person, Larry made friends easily and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His passion for NASCAR was legendary, earning him the nickname "NASCAR Larry."  His love for racing started early, and he dreamed of becoming a race car driver. Larry could often be found at local tracks with Kisha by his side, befriending drivers and crews, and cheering on his heroes like AJ Foyt, Dale Earnhardt, Tony Stewart, the Schilds brothers and many others. Sundays were reserved for watching races at home, the sounds of roaring engines a familiar part of his life.

Larry found his solace by the sea. Crystal Beach on Bolivar Peninsula became his haven, and later, he found another coastal home in Sargent, Texas. He enjoyed developing relationships as an active member and contributor to his community and local church.

A skilled glazier by trade and a proud member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, Larry's work wasn't for the faint of heart. He scaled the heights of Houston's skyscrapers, installing glass windows with a fearless spirit.

Within the family, he was known as "Crazy Uncle Larry," a prankster who always knew how to turn a frown upside down with his silly antics and playful spirit.

Larry leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love for family and friends, and a zest for life. He is deeply missed by his daughter, Kisha, his extended family, and the countless friends he touched throughout his life.
