Joseph A Pulda was born in Milltown, NJ on August 8, 1931. He preferred to go by his middle name, Art, and is a real life example of the American dream. He rose from a challenging family and economic upbringing to become a success in every sense of the word. After joining the US Army as an enlisted man at a very young age, he became an officer. He served and was injured in the Korean War. Over the course of his 32-year military career, he was awarded numerous commendations including the Bronze Star and rose to the rank of Colonel.
In addition to his military career, Art put himself through college and earned a degree in electrical engineering. He applied his education and military experience to a successful 34-year career at AT&T.  He met the love of his life on a commuter train traveling from New Jersey to New York City. This was the greatest moment of his life. He and Carol were lovingly married for 44 years, and he was a wonderful father and role model to his children.
Art will be remembered for his principled outlook on life, his courage, his undying love for his family, and his adoration of dogs. He is survived by his wife Carol Pulda and his three sons. He will be greatly missed and forever in the hearts of his family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, TX, 77379. Graveside services will be held a 10:15 am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road in San Antonio, TX, 78209.
