Joseph Haehn, age 58 of Cypress, Texas passed away on October 7th, 2021 after a short illness. Joseph was one of 5 children born to Dr. Ralph and Phyllis Haehn in Painesville, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Linlin Liu; stepson, Brian Li (Audrey Zhao); grandson, Ethan Li; mother, Phyllis; brothers, Matthew (Susan), Jeffrey (Debra), Christopher (Melissa), Aaron (Bonnie); and many nieces and nephews.
Joseph was preceded in death by his father Dr. Ralph Haehn.
Joseph attended St. Gabriel Catholic School and Lake Catholic High School in Mentor, Ohio before graduating from Mentor High School in 1981. He earned an Associate of Science degree in Electronics Technology from Lakeland Community College Kirtland, Ohio and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Technology from the University of Houston.
Joseph began his career in engineering at Bailey Controls Company in Wickliffe, Ohio. He relocated to Texas in 2000 and worked as an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer at several Houston area companies including Exterran and Compass for the last 14 years.
Joseph had a strong work ethic and many diverse talents. He was very skilled at home renovation and wood working. He enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles and rode on several cross-country trips. Joseph loved and appreciated a wide variety of music and was talented in playing electric and bass guitars. He had vast interests in culture and history and had traveled to Europe, Canada, and China. He enjoyed cooking, good food, and craft beers. He loved nature and liked to spend time outdoors hiking, gardening, and fishing.
Joseph was a kind, compassionate, and generous person with a welcoming smile who was a joy to be around. He loved animals and had many family pets over his lifetime. Joseph especially loved spending time with family and friends as often as possible and was always supportive and helpful. He is loved by all who were blessed to know him and he will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
A Visitation will be held at Klein Funeral Home located at 9719 Wortham Blvd, Houston, TX 77065 on October 13, 2021 from 5-8PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church located at 11507 Huffmeister Road, Houston, TX 77065 on October 14, 2021 at 11AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made in Joseph's honor to his favorite Houston local radio station KPFT 90.1.
