Obituary

Joseph Alva Barron, of Cypress, TX passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018. He was born on July 25, 1933 in Brooklyn, Alabama.

Joe attended Sour Lake High School and began working for Transco in 1951. He joined the US Air Force in 1952 and left the service as a Staff Sergeant in 1956 after a tour of duty in Japan. He retired from Transco Energy in 1990 after 39 years of service. He was on the Board of Directors for Transtar Federal Credit Union and the Transco Retirees Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Dudley Barron and Emma Dawkins Barron; brother, Hughgie Barron; and sisters:,Coleta Shuman, Nadine Murphy, Oraette Lunsford, Harveta Barr and Nelda Nicol.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Judy; children, Jackie Arrington, Kayla and Bob Gaddis, Crystal Barron, Glen and Jennifer Arnold, and John and Stefanie Arnold; brother and wife, James Dudley and Bobbye Barron; grandchildren, Lee and Andrea Arrington, James and Judy Arrington, Alison and Eric Housden, Melissa and Tony Kim, Kristen and Denver Glass, Zane and Cade Arnold, and Zach and Autumn Port; great-grandchildren, Holden, Haleigh, Hannah and Hunter Housden, Ava Arrington, Evie and Rosie Kim, Ruby and Olivia Glass; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Lee Arrington, James Arrington, Denver Glass, Zane Arnold, Cade Arnold and Zach Port. Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby Jacobson, Danny Paris, Will Cain, Rocky Hinojosa and Stan Haydel.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Joe to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org .

Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 5, at Klein Funeral Home - Tomball, 1400 W. Main, Tomball, TX 77375. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, in the funeral home chapel, with interment to follow in Klein Memorial Park, FM 2920, Tomball.
