Josefina Lara Dougherty was born on June 27, 1953 in Waupun, Wisconsin, to Justina Davila Lara and Jose Lara. She grew up in a large family of 17 brother's and sisters. She left this world at the age of 63 to be with the Lord on July 14, 2016 in Houston, TX after a long battle with an illness. She graduated from San Antonio College, where she was accepted into the nursing program and became an RN. After graduation, she worked as a Nurse for over 30 years and became a CNOR. She had many fond memories working as a nurse in particular while working at MD Anderson in the OR, where she met and married Dr. Thomas Dougherty, an Anesthesiologist. She devoted much of her time and energy to her family, who loved her dearly. Her cleverness, jokes and enchanted smile enlightened all around her and once you met her you instantly would fall in love with her.
She is survived by her Husband Dr. Thomas Dougherty, her daughter Jennifer Jean De Leon and her son in law Timothy De Leon; Her two grandchildren Joshua De Leon and Micayla De Leon. Stepson Tab Dougherty and Step Daughter Ann Tarleton. Her three Sisters Andrea Lara, Rosa Martinez and Mary Lou Borazjani. Her Five Brothers Jose Lara JR., Juan Lara, Gilbert Lara, Robert Lara and Rudy Lara and a host of other relatives and friend's who all loved her immensely. Josefine spent her recent few remaining years living in Houston, TX in the company of her husband, daughter, son-in- law, grandchildren, brother Rudy, sister Rosa & mother-in-law Adela Ramirez.
"For the Lord has opened its Heaven and taken upon another beautiful soul, may she be forever remembered."
