Dr. Jose Candelario Sagbini, M.D., born on February 2, 1940 in Calamar, Bolivar, Colombia, to the late Isabel Maria Radi and the late Jose Antonio Sagbini, passed
away on April 16, 2018 at the age of 78 in Houston, Texas. He was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a physician who showed unlimited
compassion for all those he cared for during his lifetime of practicing medicine. Dr. Jose C. Sagbini, M.D., practiced medicine for 51 years. He graduated first in
his class from the Universidad de Cartagena in 1965. In 1968, he arrived at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD to do his residency and specialized in General Surgery. In
1976, he came to Houston, TX where he continued to practice for 40 years and where he became a pillar of the medical community. He was preceded in death by his brother, Elias and sister, Zoraida De La Hoz. He is
survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Genoveva Sanfeliu Sagbini. His children; Marla Sagbini Katz and husband Rob, Isabel Maria Sagbini and Jose Antonio Sagbini
and wife Carolina. Also, his sisters Carmen and Alba and 6 grandchildren; David Joseph Katz, Christopher Anthony Katz, Michael Robert Katz, Antonio Jose Sagbini,
Alejandra Isabel Sagbini and Javier David Sagbini.
He will always be remembered as a kindhearted and fiercely proud man with a great sense of humor. He was a lover of practical jokes and enjoyed music, sports and was
entertained by videos on YouTube. Mostly, he was a devout family man who always put Genoveva, his children and grandchildren above all else. His family was his pride
and joy and his greatest legacy, and he will forever live in our hearts.  A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 7810 Cypresswood Drive, Spring TX 77379. Klein Funeral Home is handling arrangements in Houston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jose's name to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, and St.
Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church are welcome and appreciated.
