Jose Lopez, 61, was called to heaven while in his home on January 22, 2020 after a strong fight against Cancer. He was born in El Palmar, Michoacán, Mexico on November 24th, 1958 to Jose Dolores Lopez Corona and Francisca Zarco Ibarra. Jose met his wife, Maria Ofelia De La Mora, while living in Chicago, Illinois and they were married on December 29th, 1979 and lived happily married for 40 years. They welcomed their first-born son, Josue Lopez, on November 4th, 1989, their first-born daughter, Ana Edith Lopez, on June 1st, 1991, and youngest daughter, Francisca Lopez, on July 12th, 1994.

Jose was a man with an undeniable strength. His smile could fill a room with happiness, and his heart was open to all he met and filled with kindness and love. He was a man that you could count on to be there through the good and the bad. A man who fought with great strength and a smile on his face until the end. He will be remembered as a selfless and loving husband, father, brother, son, and overall man. He will be missed greatly by all his family and friends.

Jose is survived by his wife, Maria Ofelia Lopez, his son Josue Lopez, his daughter Francisca Lopez, daughter-in-law Brandi Michelle Nester, son-in-law Carlos Alejandro Rivas, grandchildren, Dixie Raelynn Lopez, Liam Josue Carni, and Gael Sanchez, his father Jose Dolores Lopez, his brothers and sisters, Raquel Lopez, Pilar Lopez, Robertina Lopez, Yolanda Lopez, Manuel Lopez, Rafael Lopez, Genaro Lopez, Ana Maria Lopez, Edith Lopez, and various other family members. He is met in heaven by his predeceased daughter Ana Edith Lopez, and mother Francisca Zarco Ibarra.
