Jonnie Sue Nolen Jenkins 1939-2023

Jonnie Jenkins passed away in Angleton, Texas on November 17, 2023. Jonnie is survived by her daughter Jill Goff and her husband Joe,  son Jeff Jenkins and Kris, grandchildren Haley Ermis and her husband John,  Ross Goff,  Sadie Jenkins, and Jonnie's sister Carol Wise, as well as a close-knit family of relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Jenkins and her parents Lorene and Warren Nolen. A celebration of remembrance will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Klein Funeral Home - CyFair on Wortham.

Jonnie was born January 30, 1939 to parents John Warren and Edna Lorene Nolen in Austin, Texas. After growing up with her sister and an abundance of close aunts, uncles, and cousins in Austin, she graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1957 and married Jim Jenkins on August 9, 1958. They began their adventure in life together in Cherry Point, North Carolina for several years while Jim was in the Air Force and eventually returned to Texas, living in Austin, Hurst, and Houston, to raise their family. By providing them her nurturing love, healthy delicious meals, and wonderful memories, she made her mark on our world.  Watching cooking shows, gardening, and birdwatching became her favorite pastimes, and once her grandkids came into the world, she loved being their Gammie.  A dry sense of humor and sharp mind (and tongue) made her quite the memorable conversationalist. She was also the best listener for many that enjoyed talking with her.
