Jon Edward Anderson, 84, passed away on October 2, 2024, in Houston, TX. He was born on March 23, 1940, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jon was a cherished member of the community, known for his humor and dedication to his family and country.
Jon proudly served in the Navy from 1962 to 1966, an experience that deeply influenced his life and values. After his military service, he transitioned to a successful career, initially working for Scott Paper Company before finding his niche in commercial real estate in Houston, where he was respected for his integrity and expertise.
He graduated from Will Rogers High School, and furthered his education at the University of Oklahoma, which laid the foundation for his professional achievements and lifelong friendships.
Jon was a devout member of St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, where he contributed to the community through various initiatives. His hobbies included reading, golfing, and fishing. He cherished the yearly family trips to Colorado, which were filled with laughter and memorable moments.
He leaves behind his loving spouse, Mary Louise, sons, Mark and Jay, daughters-in-law, Ann and Kelly, sister, Sue, and brother-in-law, Allen. Jon was preceded in death by his sister Nancy, and his parents, Mary and Edward.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jon's memory can be made to Houston Hospice. Jon's life was a testament to the values of service, family, and community, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
