Obituary

Johnnye Sue Manning Schaper, born on July
18, 1945 in Nacogdoches, Texas passed away at home on Sunday, June 5 2016 at the age of 70.

Johnnye Sue grew up in Pasadena and later received a Bachelor's Degree from Sam Houston State University. She met Robert "Bob" Schaper in English class while at the university, and they married on December 28, 1964. Johnnye Sue and Bob have three sons that they raised in Tomball, Texas, where Bob was the President/CEO of Tomball Regional Hospital. Johnnye Sue taught English, typing, and accounting at Tomball High School, and then retired to focus on her growing family and philanthropic work. She was an active member of the Tomball Business and Professional Woman as well as the Krewe of Gambrinus in Galveston.

Johnnye Sue was a master gardener who also loved traveling, collecting art,  fishing in Galveston, and her many pets. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Landers Manning, her brother, Charles Rushing Manning, and her husband, Robert F. Schaper. She is survived by her sons Clay and wife Julie of Los Gatos, California, Cale and wife Grace of Cypress, Texas, and Lance and wife Jennifer of Richmond, Texas. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Ethan, Elliott, Emily, Beau, Lilly, Claire, and Amelia, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held 5-8pm on Wednesday at the Klein Funeral Home in Tomball.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Thursday, June 9,2016 at Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball.

Interment will follow at Klein Memorial Park SH 249.
