In Loving Memory of Johnny McConnell

March 7, 1951 – June 10, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Johnny McConnell on June 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Johnny was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Martha Ann, a proud father to his son Jason, and a cherished father-in-law. He was the kind of man who showed his love through his actions—always present, always supportive, and always willing to lend a hand.

One of Johnny's greatest joys in life was spending time with his family. He was an incredible grandfather to his granddaughter Yesenia and grandsons Leo and Alex, creating memories they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. Whether he was cheering from the sidelines at baseball games, sharing stories of his car racing days, offering advice, or simply enjoying time together, he made each moment special.

Johnny also had a lifelong passion for race cars. He loved racing, working on them, talking about them, and sharing that excitement with those around him. His enthusiasm, determination, and love for the sport reflected the way he lived his life—with dedication, heart, and a spirit that inspired others.

A devoted Houston Astros fan, Johnny rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his team. Whether watching a game, wearing his Astros cap, or celebrating a big win, his love for Houston baseball was a part of who he was and brought him great joy throughout his life.

Though cancer ultimately took his physical strength, it never diminished his love for his family or the impact he had on those who knew him. His kindness, humor, wisdom, and unwavering support will be remembered by all whose lives he touched.

Johnny leaves behind his beloved wife, Martha Ann; his son, Jason; his daughter-in-law, Helyana; his granddaughter, Yesenia; his grandsons, Leo and Alex; his sister, Rhonda Reeves; his stepdaughter, Michelle Read; and many other family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.

While our hearts are broken by his loss, we find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the countless memories he created.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
