John W. Veith 60 of Spring, TX passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023. John was born in Queens, New York the son of Elaine Blum and William K. Veith. He moved to Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania where he graduated from Stroudsburg High School. He then attended Monroe County Area Vocational Technical School for machine shop. Over the years he worked at Bartonsville Truck Center and Leonard's Tool & Manufacturing Co. as a machinist. He moved to Texas in 1985 where he started his career working for Metro Transit Authority. He started as a journeyman mechanic in running repair and inspections and heavy repair and then worked his way up to lead man. Over the years he became a foreman with a career of 30 years. On the side of all that he was part owner of Village Cuts Hair Salon with his wife.
John was a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and a good friend. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Janet Veith; daughter, Vanessa Veith and God daughter, Nicole Beckman and two grandchildren, Nolan Griggs and Natalie Griggs; uncle Edmund Blum.
John enjoyed spending time with his family camping, barbequing, watching Nascar racing, and watching the Houston Astros Baseball. We loved going to the races and it became a tradition to go to Talladega Speedway twice a year. He also loved spending time with his 3-year-old cocker spaniel, Ginger Spice. He will always be in our hearts.
