John George Stathakos was born on August 3, 1938 in Galveston, TX to George Soterios Stathakos and Angelike (Stavropierrakos) Stathakos. He passed away on September 21, 2021. John Grew up in Galveston, and graduated from Ball High School. He Went on to go to Paris Junior College, and then attended and graduated from Sam Houston State University. He got a job with the Houston Chronicle, where he worked until he retired in 2004. He and Donna were married in November 1965 and were married for 50 years, until Donna passed away in June 2016. John was known for his hard work ethic, his great friendships that he made over the years, and his love of classic cars. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Angelike, his beloved wife, Donna, two brothers, Jimmie and Sam Stathakos. John is Survived by his two daughters, Stacy and Lisa. His granddaughters, Ashlyn and Allysa, grandsons, Conner, Gavin and Ryan. Great grandchildren, Cameron, Edan, Eyla, and Elena. Sister in Law, Voula Stathakos of Galveston. He is also survived by many other family members, as well as so many close friends that he has had for many, many years. John will be missed by so many people. He was one that started up a conversation with someone and a friendship was made and it lasted.
