It is with deep sadness that we announce that John Milton Roberts of Conroe, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, at the age of 78.

Born on June 6, 1947, in Waxahachie, Texas, John was a proud Texan through and through. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather and great-grandfather, a loyal brother, and a faithful friend.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Patti Roberts. He leaves behind his children: son Criss Roberts of Tomball, TX; daughter Shannon Barber and husband Nathan of Tomball, TX; and daughter Shuranda Widener and husband Kirk of Altus, OK. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas Roberts and wife Cyndy of Spring, TX.

John was the proud grandfather of six: Taylor Haddock of Boerne, TX; Aidan Barber (Dannie Lynn) of Seattle, WA; Jaycee Barber of Tomball, TX; Dawson Barber of Tomball, TX; Denielle Widener of Altus, OK; and Krystin Widener of Altus, OK. His legacy continues through his great-grandsons, Oaklee and Everest Barber, and he was joyfully awaiting the arrival of his first great-granddaughter, Rowan Barber.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde T. Roberts and Iva Roberts of Houston, TX.

John proudly served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he dedicated 48 years to the chemical production industry in the Pasadena and Baytown areas of Houston.  Through his time in the industry John cultivated an enormous circle of friends that he frequently spoke fondly of throughout his retirement years.

In retirement, John embraced a quieter, joy-filled life. His passion for golf inspired him and Patti to move to their dream home along the fairway at Panorama Village golf course in Conroe. When not golfing, John found peace in fishing, "puttering" in his yard with his trusty sidekick Nugget, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends.

John will be remembered for his warm heart, easy laughter, deep sense of loyalty, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life. His legacy of love and service lives on in those who knew and loved him.
