Obituary

John Robert Fox, better known as Bob, loving husband, father, and grandfather, born on June 27, 1947, to John & Vera Fox of Oklahoma City, Ok.  Bob passed away on Sunday May 8, 2022 surrounded by family at MD Anderson Hospital, Houston, Tx.

Bob met the love of his life Sharon Kay Fox (Martin) in March 1967, at Hollie's Drive Inn, in Oklahoma City and married her on November 3, 1967.

Bob graduated from Central State University in Edmond, Ok. and started his career in the oil industry as a data engineer in Oklahoma, and then moved to Houston Texas where he was a drilling fluids salesman for 40 years. Bob enjoyed his job and made many life-long friends along the way.  He retired and moved to Canyon Lake Texas where they had loved to spend their weekends before retirement.

Bob had an exuberance for life and it showed in many ways. Bob had a love for baseball, and started playing as a young boy and was a talented pitcher through college.

He also had a heady love and fascination with astronomy.  His daughters remember being woken up in the middle of the night so that dad could take them outside to see what the heavens were revealing. He knew the stars very well, and loved to share his knowledge of them. He was also very intrigued by the weather and climate. You would think he was a meteorologist he knew it so well.  Intrigued to the point of installing rain and wind gauges on the roof so that a computer could display data inside the home.  Just another way of providing protection for his family that he loved.

Bob enjoyed golfing, water sports, reading, playing games, coaching Paula in softball and being a sideline coach for Denice in soccer to name a few.  Most importantly Bob loved his family. His two girls hold him in the highest esteem and his wife loves him dearly.  Bob cherished his 4 grandchildren, Chandler, Hunter, Kayla and Samantha.  He never missed an opportunity to share in their activities and achievements, and treasured every moment he had with them and dedicated his time and efforts to each one of them.  They each loved and respected their Papa!

Bob's favorite nightcap was his nightly bowl of ice cream topped with his favorite chocolate syrup!

Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon Fox of Canyon Lake Tx, Paula and Jeff Husband of Canyon Lake Tx. and Denice Fox of Oklahoma City, Ok.  He is survived by 4 grandchildren, Chandler, Hunter, Kayla and Samantha.  He is survived by his sister Sandy Rochester and a brother Tim Fox both of Midwest City, Ok,
