John L. Rigall, 69, died peacefully on Thursday, January 10, 2019 with his dearest loved ones at his side. John was born to Verna Bell Russell in Barlow, Kentucky on November 29, 1949. He spent much of his childhood living in Houston, Texas but also spent time living with his Aunt Rose and Uncle Jim Willis in Jacksonville, Florida.   John joined the Marines in 1968 and served in the Vietnam War where he earned a Purple Heart. Shortly after enlisting he married his former spouse, Janie and together they adopted a daughter, Amy who became his pride and joy. After leaving the Marines John went on to join the Air Force where he became an Electrical Engineer.  He retired from the USAF as a Master Sergeant in 1990 and returned to Houston to be near family.   Being the hard-working man that John was, he wasn't quite ready for retirement so he began working for the U.S Postal Service as a mail carrier in 1994.  That same year he had a home built in Humble, Texas where he and his family settled for the next 20 years. He retired in 2007 and enjoyed the rest of his years doing the things he loved.   John was a selfless man who didn't hesitate to help someone in need. He was someone you could truly count on. He could talk your ear off if you'd let him and because of his outgoing personality he never met a stranger. To know him was to love and respect him. John lived life to the fullest, always making time to do the little things that made him happy. He enjoyed traveling as often as possible and usually made it a point to visit a casino or two when he did. His favorite pastime of all was karaoke which he'd been hosting and singing for years. He rarely missed karaoke night and would even travel over an hour away to sing with good friends. Family was of the upmost importance to him and he loved spending time with his daughter, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren as much as possible.  John will be deeply missed by his daughter, Amy Rigall, and spouse Ryan Harkins; his grand children, Jasmyn Sellars, and spouse Ryan Walker; Ryan Price and Alyx Price, his great grandchildren, Alahna Walker; Mason Price; Kaiden Price and Isaac Price, his brother, Hugh Sanford "Sandy" Rigall, Sr and spouse, Beth Rigall, his sister, Amy L Turki and spouse, Mario Jimenez and his loving aunt, Ella Rose Willis, along with many other relatives and friends.   The family will receive friends Monday, January 21, 2019 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday January 22, 2019 in the chapel of Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Dr. Spring, Texas 77379.
