John Michael Quinn III died on April 3, 2021 after 63 years of leading a loving, enthusiastic life. As a man who cherished family, he was a dutiful son, loving husband, proud father, and loyal friend.

Born on December 7, 1957, to John Michael "Mike" Quinn II and Catherine Quinn, John went on to graduate from Anderson High School in Austin and the University of Texas at Arlington. He was the oldest of three tight-knit siblings with his brother Patrick and sister Carol.

John raised his children, Heather and Jacob, in Irving, Texas. Throughout his life, John raved about how proud he was of their contributions to the family and to the world.

A lifelong learner, John always picked up new passions and skills with enviable ease and jumped at every adventure. At the time of his passing, he was enjoying a treasured new chapter traveling with his wife and love, Donna.

His other passion in life after family was sports, including the Cowboys, Mavericks, and Stars, but especially any sport played by the Texas Longhorns. John's love for the Longhorns was unmatched. He never missed a chance to talk sports, and showed his love for you by following your team.

John was a master communicator and was often tapped to write and give speeches and toasts at family events. Those who loved him will deeply miss his turn of phrase, sense of humor, and ability to dive into a deep conversation at the drop of a hat.

Despite having battled serious surgeries and illnesses, John was very active and never passed up an opportunity for fun with family or friends. He loved nature and was living his dream waking up to a beautiful view of creation every day.

Now, John is enjoying an enormous bear hug with those who preceded him in death, including his father, Mike, and nephew, Benjamin.

For his surviving family—mother Cathy; wife Donna; daughter Heather; son Jacob; stepdaughter Jessica and her husband Nathan; brother Pat and sister in-law Charli; sister Carol and brother in-law Bruce; niece Chanel; nephews Cameron, Robert, and Austin; and deeply beloved in-laws and extended family—his passing leaves a tremendous loss, because his love was so generous.
