John Joseph Powers
John Powers, owner of Statewide HVAC and longtime resident of Magnolia, Texas, passed away February 10, 2022, at the age of 59. John was born June 12, 1962, in Wichita, Kansas. He was the 3rd child of Gloria Corvin and Joe Powers. John was named after his maternal grandfather, John A. Martinez.
Born into a military family, his father's service took him to many different places during his early childhood years. He lived in Jackson, Tennessee, where he attended high school and learned the AC trade through vocational training.
He moved to Texas shortly afterward where he met his wife, Susan, and they started their family. He soon started his business, Statewide HVAC in 1992, where, over the years, gained many longtime and loyal customers. His son, John Jr., whom he mentored in HVAC services, worked alongside learning the trade. John Jr. will continue to provide the same service the way his father taught him: "If you don't have time to do it right the first time, you don't have time."
John leaves behind him a great legacy. He was a dedicated husband and father. John's hobbies included coaching his sons' baseball teams, hunting, and spending time with family. He loved being outdoors and hunting at the deer lease with his friends. John always spread joy to those around him. He had an infectious smile and always shared his love for Jesus. John's sons, Bobby, John Jr., Tyler, and Andrew, will carry on his legacy for many years to come.
John is survived by his wife, Susan Powers, sons and daughter-in-laws, Bobby and Whitney Powers, John Jr. Powers, Tyler and Maranda Powers, and Andrew Powers, his Mother, Gloria Corvin, his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Rob Fulghum, his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Jeanie Powers, and his grandchildren, Landry Powers and Jamelsely Powers. He is predeceased by his son, Matthew Powers, his father, Joe Powers, and his sister, Terry Powers.
