Obituary

JOHN "DOC" ALEXANDER PHILLIPS JR., 89 of Magnolia, Tx passed away peacefully on April 24, 2020 in Tomball, Tx. John was born on March 22, 1931 in Springfield, Ma to John A. Phillips Sr. and Rhoda Phillips.

John served in the United States Navy and fought with the first battalion, 5th marines where he received the purple heart for wounds he had received as a result of enemy action in the Korean War on November 21, 1952.

John was a Freemason, and an active member of Magnolia Methodist Church, VFW, American Foreign Legion, and The Lions Club.

John was preceded in death by his father John A, Phillips Sr., his mother Rhoda Phillips, son Anthony Phillips, and loving wife of 50 years, Lucille Phillips.

John is survived by son Bill Phillips and wife Rita, son David Phillips and wife Jessie, son John Phillips III and wife Nanetta, and son Andrew Phillips, and long time friend Carlie Harrison. Grandchildren Pamela and Eric Phillips, Matthew, Shawn, and Elizabeth Phillips, Alicia Giles, Jessica Kenny, Jamie Phillips, and Heather Peterson. Great Grandchildren Stephen, Andrew, Johnathan, Samantha, Noah, Jonah, Tess, Ty, Makayla, and Brenden.

Visitation will be held Thursday April 30, 2020 at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main Tomball, Tx 77375 from 5-7pm. Due to COVID-19, a private burial will be held Friday May 1, 2020 at Klein Cemetery.
