John Joseph Pepas "Jack" passed peacefully on April 29, 2021 at his home in Spring, Texas. Jack was born in Bayonne New Jersey on December 27, 1932, the oldest son of Joe and Helen Pepas. He grew up in Long Island, New York. Jack attended Columbia University and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then honorably served three years as an officer in the Navy and upon his discharge started work at Exxon, while simultaneously earning his Master's degree from Bernard Baruch University. Jack would spend the next 39 years with Exxon in a very successful and wide ranging career.

In August of 1954 Jack married the love of his life Dorothy J. Parks, "Dotty" and together they had two sons Jack Jr, and Joseph. Jack was a devoted husband and father. Jack and Dotty spent the next 61 years enjoying their life together with their two sons and their wives Susie and Erika, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Jack never lost his love for the sea, and was a big boating enthusiast. He loved spending time with his family on his boats over the years, with activities ranging from fishing trips, voyages to the east coast and Canada and participating in the Annual Christmas Boat Parade in Galveston and Clear Lake.

Jack was well liked and respected by his co-workers at Exxon where his career spanned decades of tremendous growth and changes in the industry. Jack was known for embracing innovative and "out of the box thinking" in high profile projects such as, implementing the first computerized distribution system named "DORIS", and Union contract negotiations for Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.

Above all Jack was loved and admired by his family and friends. His life was truly a life well lived.

Jack was preceded in death by his Parents Joe and Helen, as well as his only bother Joseph Francis. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Dotty, his son's Jack and Joe, their wives Susie and Erika, his grandchildren Krystin, Jason , Cynthia Zachary, Samantha and Dorothy, and his great grandchildren Michael, Mackenzie, Kaden, Drew, Jack and Amy. Jack is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Monday May 10, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forrest Drive, Spring, Texas 77379.

A graveside service will follow at 2:15 pm at the Houston National Cemetery,10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
