JOHN DEE PARRISH, 80 of Cypress, TX. passed away January 22, 2022. He was born October 8th,1941 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Monta and Maesel Parrish. John attended the University of Texas at Austin and received his mechanical engineering degree from University of Houston in 1974 where he met Carol Parrish his wife of 41 years. John retired after 45 years of serving in the oil field services industry that he loved. John was an accomplished engineer who held 23 patents for drilling & bit mining technologies some of which are still in use today. John proudly served in the USAF and in Vietnam from 1965 through 1966. John was a left lower amputee beginning in 1966 and never let his disability define him or hold him back from achieving success in life. John was a beloved husband, devoted father and grandfather, special friend and mentor to many. John was an avid outdoorsman spending as much as he could hunting and fishing with his family. Surviving are his son C. Jason Parrish and wife Kathleen; his cherished granddaughters Brittany Parrish; Jalyn Parrish, Brittany Helleberg, and grandson Cody Jason Parrish. Brother-in-law Robert McGill and wife Wanda, sister-in-law Debra K. Griffin and husband Carlos; and other nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Visitation will be held from 9-10 AM. Friday January 28th, 2022, at Klein Funeral Home-Champion Forest. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM in the Klein Funeral Home Chapel-Champion Forest. Interment will follow at Klein Memorial Park on FM 2920. For those desiring, contributions in John's memory may be made to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.
