John W. Parker, 90 died 11/01/2022. A native of Bartow Florida, he attended public schools and later graduated from The University of Florida after serving 4 years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He had a 30+ year career with the United States Food and Drug Administration that led him to Texas. After retiring from the FDA in Houston, he consulted internationally working in Italy, Jordan and Africa.
John enjoyed gardening, woodworking, fishing and home renovation. He was a master gardener, a creative wood worker and he volunteered many years as an instructor with Literacy Volunteers of America. He and his wife Betsy spent 10 years restoring & renovating a historical home in Galveston. John loved fishing the northern Canadian lakes and the Gulf of Mexico. He was an avid recycler and conservationist.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Betsy, his son Jack & his partner Jerry, his son Gib & his wife Margi along with three grandchildren, Katrina, Lance and Tori and five great grandchildren
