In Loving Memory of
JOHN MIHALOVICH

January 27 ^th , 1936 – July 21 ^st , 2020

John was born in Duquesne, Pennsylvania.  He and his wife Alice were happily married for 63 years.  They lovingly raised six daughters together.  John was a hardworking, devoted, and loving husband and father.  The couple were introduced by their dear friend George Yasko and became pen pals while John was serving in the United States Marine Corp.  He reached the rank of Sergeant before his honorable discharge in September 1956.  John received an Associate Degree in Engineering from Penn State University in 1959.

After meeting in person, John and Alice knew they were meant for each other.  They married in 1957 and began their life together in Duquesne before John accepted a position as an Electrical Engineer with Brown & Root in Houston, Texas in 1969.  John eventually retired from the company in the summer of 1999.

John loved to garden and could repair almost anything.  He also enjoyed harvesting grapefruits from the tree in the back yard.  John also liked to tinker in the garage and in his early years would make doll furniture for his six daughters.  After living in their home in Houston for 30 years, they moved to Solana, an independent retirement living community in Spring, Texas.

John is preceded in death by his parents John & Anna Mihalovich; daughter, Johnna Stahl; his sister, Sylvia Plummer; his brothers-in-law, Tom Hanley and Terry Hanley and granddaughter, Christina Dew.

He is survived by his loving wife Alice.  Daughters, Donna Clark and son-in-law Paul Clark; Marcia Naar; Laura Dew; Mary Weaver and son-in-law Mark; Melissa Green and son-in-law Nathan Green.  Sister-in-law, Pat Schreiber, husband Brad and nephew Vince; sister-in-law Mildred Hanley; brother-in-law, Ray Plummer; longtime friends George and Carol Yasko.

Surviving grandchildren Steven Wyatt, Robbie Naar, Shelby Naar, Nick Dew and wife Melissa, Kevin Dew, Daniel Dew, Beau Stahl, Patrick Weaver, Brian Weaver, Sara Long and husband Austin Long, Samantha Hardin, Seth Hardin and wife Baileigh.  Great-grandchildren Isabella Naar, Brody Dew, Peyton Dew and Carter Long.

The family will have a small private service for John at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on October 20th, at 1:30PM.
