John Hilliard "Black" LeBlanc, Sr.

Passed Away: January 15, 2025, at home in Tomball, Texas

Age: 88

Johnny is survived by his daughters, Debra Bergeron (James) and Dawna Weinberg (Mark); his sons, Johnny LeBlanc Jr. (Janet) and Hardy LeBlanc; his grandchildren, John Bergeron, Chad Bergeron, Kiel Weinberg, Ryan LeBlanc, Jeremy LeBlanc, Daniel (Jasmine) LeBlanc, Morgan Bergeron, Ameera (Mark) Boenig, Meghan Hackett, Katie LeBlanc, and Lauren LeBlanc; his great-grandchildren, Gabe Bergeron, Jett Bergeron, Emma Hackett, Olivia Haney, and Remi Boenig; and his sister, Renola Mary Carriere.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Annette LeBlanc; his parents, Henry and Antoinette (Abshire) LeBlanc; his brother, Harry Lee LeBlanc; his sister, Carita Mae Herrington; and his daughter, Kimberly K. LeBlanc.

Johnny "Black" LeBlanc grew up in Crowley, where he was active in school sports, including football and boxing. He worked for Clyde Clemons Men's Wear and played steel guitar for local bands until graduating from Crowley High.

Shortly after graduation, he met Annette Harden in Houston through mutual friends, and they eloped in 1957 after dating for only three or four months. They were married for 64 years until her passing in 2022.

Over the course of the first years of marriage, Johnny served in the National Guard and worked in various professions, including as a government rice inspector, car salesman, and welder. He eventually found his "calling" in Labor Relations and Human Resources, enjoying a long and distinguished career with Cameron Iron Works/Cooper Industries until his retirement at age 59.

His passion was cooking and entertaining, and loved to prepare everything from BBQ to Cajun cuisine including boiled crawfish, fried fish and etouffee.  He had a great personality and made many lifelong friends throughout the years. He loved to play golf (even hit a hole in one!), mow grass (I guess it was therapeutic!) and sleep on the floor with grandbabies draped across his stomach.

Johnny was immensely proud of the family he and Annette raised and often expressed gratitude for their life together, telling her, "We did good." His family and friends will miss him greatly.

Services for Johnny LeBlanc Sr. will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Klein's Funeral Home, Tomball, TX. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations in his honor to your favorite charity or the Rosehill Social Club, P.O. Box 438, Tomball, TX 77377.
