In Loving Memory of John J. Kesinger December 5, 1985 – September 15, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John J. Kesinger, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, who passed away on September 15, 2026, at the age of 40.
Born on December 5, 1985 in Jasper, Texas. John lived his life with a big heart and a genuine willingness to help others. He was loving, caring, hardworking, and incredibly selfless. John was the kind of person who would be there for anyone, for anything, whenever they needed him. Whether it was family, a friend, a neighbor, or someone simply needing a helping hand, John could always be counted on.
Above all, John was a devoted father to his four children, Jonathan Kesinger, Jasmine Kesinger, Jayden Kesinger, and Millie Kesinger. His children meant the world to him, and being their father was one of the greatest and most important parts of his life.
John was the beloved son of his father, John W. Kesinger and his wife, Maria Kesinger, and his mother, Sharon A. Farrell and her husband, Joe Farrell. He was also a loving brother to Sheleen Wood and her husband, Noah Wood; Kristin Sanchez and her husband, Paul Sanchez; and Justin Villegas and his wife, Daniella Villegas.
John is also lovingly remembered by his grandmother, Kathleen Kesinger, along with the many members of his extended family whose lives were touched by his love, kindness, and unforgettable presence.
John was preceded in death by his grandfather, James R. Kesinger, beloved husband of Kathleen Kesinger; and his grandmother, Loretta Moseby. Along with his great grandparents, Evelyn Goff & John Goff. Their memories, along with John’s, will forever remain a treasured part of the family’s story.
John also proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for a time, an experience that remained a meaningful part of his life.
John’s impact reached far beyond his immediate family. In the community where he lived, he was loved and respected by so many. He became affectionately known as the “neighborhood dad” because of the way he looked out for others, especially the kids and families around him. He had a way of making people feel welcomed, cared for, and protected. His door and his heart were always open.
To know John was to know someone who cared deeply for others. He gave without expecting anything in return, showed up when people needed him, and left an impression on countless lives. His kindness, generosity, humor, love, and selflessness will be remembered by everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
John’s passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of his children, parents, siblings, grandmother, extended family, friends, neighbors, and the entire community that loved him. While his time here was far too short, the love he gave and the lives he touched will continue to carry his memory forward.
John will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Semper Fi, John.
Your love lives on through your children, your family, your friends, and every person whose life was better because you were in it.
