John Wayne Herron was born on November 4, 1960 in Houston, Texas.

Family, friends and football were a big part of John's life. He never met a stranger and once he spoke with you, you were considered a friend. Whether cooking out with friends, or spending time just being one with nature, his place in the woods was his favorite place to be. John proudly served four years in the United States Army as a Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanic and was stationed in the Republic of South Korea and on firefighting missions in Yellowstone National Park.

John passed away after a hard fought battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme, on April 10, 2021, at his home in Pinehurst, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Tracy Farmer Herron; daughter, Caitlin; mother, Evelyn Herron Wagner; brother, Pete Wagner and wife Kimberly; brother, Steven Wagner and wife Shondi; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends that he considered family.
