John "Fuzz" George Fuzzell was called home on October 2 nd , 2019 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 11th, 1959 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to his loving parents - George Fuzzell and Wilma (Billie) Fuzzell. Through George's work, John was fortunate to spend his childhood living all over, including Oklahoma, California, New York, London, Texas and Colorado, before finally calling The Woodlands, Texas his home
John graduated from Conroe High School in 1978. Upon graduation, he spent a brief time studying at Stephen F. Austin, where he grew friendships and developed as a young man. He eventually transitioned from there and received his associate degree at North Harris County College in 1984. After working several different jobs, John began working in the oilfield with his father, George, in 1982. He worked in the oilfield for 37 years, and cherished the friends, stories, and memories along the way. He loved the idea of taking a junk piece of equipment and making it like new again. Some of the best years of his career started in 2008 when his son Chris started working by his side. He was very proud of the way he taught Chris the work ethic he learned from his father. He would often share bits of wisdom: "If you want to soar with the eagles, you have to get up with the turkeys."
Two things that everyone knew about John is that he was an incredible father and friend. He shared a unique and special bond with both of his children. He not only provided for them, but taught them humor, strength, and what makes a good crab cake (Hint, its lots of crab). John enjoyed spending time at the beach collecting sea shells or playing a round of golf with his buddies. He was also a huge movie buff and managed to collect over 500 DVDs. He loved listening to their soundtracks and always said that he missed his calling scoring movies. John also loved all things football, from playing in high school, to coaching his son's little league team, or just spending all weekend watching the NFL. John also never passed up a classic rock concert or a Bacardi and Diet Coke. Recently, John was very happy that both of his children found their soulmates and settled down near him in The Woodlands.
John is preceded in death by his father George Fuzzell. He is survived by his wife Kimberly Fuzzell; son Chris Fuzzell and wife Morgan; daughter Lauren Fuzzell and fiancé Shaun Doerrfeld; sisters Marie Fuzzell and Ann Wold and mother Wilma (Billie) Fuzzell.
