John "Jack" Eugene Waters, 85, of Spring, TX passed away the morning of July 18, 2022.

Jack was born July 15, 1937 in Everett, WA as an only child to Vivian and Ernest Waters. Jack showed an early interest in music, travel, and the railroad. As he grew older, he directed several church youth choirs and graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a degree in church music. After college, Jack became the manager of Sherman Clay Sheet Music and then Johnson West Music.

Jack met Carol (Wiecking) at a college church group, Chi Alpha. They married in July 1964 and relocated briefly to St. Paul, MN, where he entered the Burlington Northern Railroad's management training program. Several years later, Jack became a City Traffic Agent and they settled in Seattle, WA. Their family grew in 1968 when Joyce Ann was born, and Diane Christine was born in 1970.

In the Summer of 1983, the Waters family was transferred to Houston and was met by Hurricane Alicia. There Jack joined the sales team for Burlington Northern Railroad's Oil and Gas business. He was also a member of the Railroad Traffic Association and Speakers' Bureau.

Jack was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, and an active member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Spring, TX, where he enjoyed both directing and singing in the choir. He helped organize the Mobility Project, a ministry refurbishing wheelchairs for those in need.

Jack and Carol loved traveling, especially camping in their motorhome. They visited all fifty states together and enjoyed several cruises as well.

The most important things in Jack's life were his faith in God, whom he served, his wife, whom he loved, and his family.

Jack and Carol were thankful for 58 years together. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol, daughters Joyce (Perry) Thinesen and Diane (Mike) Garrett, grandchildren Hannah (Steve) Boger, Trent (Carli) Thinesen, Kayla Garrett, Grant Thinesen, Katrina Thinesen, Jessica Garrett, Caleb Thinesen, and Great-Granddaughter Collins Boger.
