John Michael Downs was a native Texan, born in Houston on March 19, 1987 and went home to be with Jesus on March 1, 2018. He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. In 2005, he graduated from Klein Oak High School where he lettered in band. In 2006, he joined the U.S. Army where he served his country in the 21st Infantry Regiment 'Gimlets', Stryker Brigade Combat Team of the 25th Infantry Division for 4 years, including a 15-month deployment to Iraq. After graduating from college, John was employed with Enterprise Products Partners in Mont Belvieu, Texas where he had many friends.

John was an expert marksman, avid fisherman and had a passion for driving and working on cars. John also had an extensive knowledge of computer technology. He took great pride in gaming as well as building and customizing his own computers. But most of all, John had a heart full of love.

John is survived by many loving relatives, including his parents, John and Anne Downs, sister Laurel Downs, his grandmother, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
