John "Erik" Collier passed away at the young age of 42 on February 21, with his devoted wife Kristina and loving family by his side. Erik was born June 9, 1979 in Houston, and true to his word he never left. He was a Texan through and through. Erik was a graduate of Sam Houston State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice achieving a 3.5 GPA. Erik loved cars and couldn't be kept away from the automotive industry. After graduation he became a long time employee of Ford.

Erik was very intelligent and friendly. He never met a stranger. We all know he could talk about any subject to anyone for hours.  He loved animals, all genres of music and politics. In 2003 Erik met his loving wife Kristina. They married in January of 2013. Erik's life was filled with love, family, and friendships. We are happy and grateful for the many good years and memories we all shared with him.

He is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Debbie Diaz. Erik is survived by his loving wife, Kristina Diaz Collier; his parents, John Eugene Collier and Cathryn Elizabeth Collier; sister, Lori Collier Chavez and husband Eric Chavez; father-in-law, Mike Diaz; sisters-in law, Heather Diaz,Kim Bowen, and Allison Diaz Pasquini and husband Gus; brother-in-law, Matthew Diaz; nephews, Ethan Chavez and Evan Chavez; nieces, Amelia Chavez, Olivia Pasquini, and Evianna Pasquini; best friends, Timothy and wife Melanie Rose; Fur kids Squeakers and Leelee; and many additional family members and amazing friends.

A memorial service for Erik will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Klein Funeral Home, 9719 Wortham Blvd., Houston, TX 77065 .
