John Gerald Cochrun, Jr.'s Obituary
John Gerald Cochrun Jr., age 80, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Columbus Ohio, he soon came to Texas and called Houston his home. He attended San Jacinto High School and the University of Houston.
John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1958-1962.
He was employed here in Houston as the VP of Human Resources at Baker Hughes International and its subsidiaries for over 25 years. After retiring, John did consulting work for several oil and gas companies in between rounds and rounds of golf.
John's greatest accomplishments were as a husband of nearly 60 years to his wife Melba, a father to daughter Trace, father-in-law to Mike and the best pawpaw in the world to grandchildren Max and Lea.
He is joining many family members in Heaven: his parents, John Sr. and Yvonne, his sister, Jodi, his brother Jack and his brother-in-law Melvyn.
Due to current events, the family will hold a private burial at the Houston National Cemetery and a memorial event at a later date.
