John Arnold Burton's Obituary
?John Arnold Burton, born in Brenham, TX, on August 9, 1945, passed away peacefully in Montgomery, TX, on May 31, 2017, at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Burton and Leona Beisert Schultz, and his brother, Frankie Burton.
John was a Houston firefighter for 42 1/2 years, 30 of which he served as a District Chief. He retired eight years ago. He also had many side jobs over the years. He loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, boating, golfing, snow skiing, and riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. He was the life of the party. You always knew he was around without seeing him, because you could hear his laugh!
He was married to Vicki Wyatt Burton for the past 16 years and together they lived in Montgomery, TX, on Lake Conroe.
John's famous words to live by:
"You can make more money, but you can't make time."
"One more...no more!"
And he always said, "If I die tomorrow, don't feel sorry for me. I HAD A GREAT RIDE!"
Survivors include his wife, Vicki; two daughters, Darla Wishkoski and husband, Robert, and Jolene Deleeuw and husband, Pete; a son, John Burton II and wife, Sarah; six grandchildren, Robert Wishkoski, Jr., Shane Wishkoski, Jordan Allen, Jacob Elkins, Jenna Burton, and John Burton III; two sisters, Christina Bateman and husband, Rod, and Marilyn Adams; and a sister-in-law, Charlene Burton.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 2, at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main, Tomball, TX 77375. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at Zion Lutheran Church, Tomball, with interment to follow in Christ Lutheran Church Leobau Cemetery in Lincoln, TX.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
