Joseph Fielding Warren went to his Heavenly home on June 7, 2023. Joe's generous and humble spirit will be missed greatly. He impacted many lives much more than we will ever know.

Joe was born on February 2, 1925, in Crockett, Texas, to James Forrest Warren and Pauline Waits Warren.  He graduated from Crockett High School and served in the Navy 3 years during WWll before entering Southern Methodist University for pre-medical studies. He was accepted to Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he graduated in 1954 with an M.D. degree.

Joe married Cora Sue Wootters on September 7, 1948, and they celebrated over 72 years of marriage when Cora Sue went home to Heaven in August of 2021.

In 1955, Joe and Cora Sue moved to Tomball, Texas, where he was in the General Practice of Medicine. He enjoyed his family practice where he was co-owner and operator of a Community Hospital for 10 years. He returned to Baylor College of Medicine Residency Program in 1965 for 3 years of speciality training in Psychiatry. In 1968, he entered the private practice of Psychiatry in the Texas Medical Center, Houston, Texas, for 17 years, later moving to Houston Northwest Medical Center, nearer Tomball, in 1985, where he remained in practice until retirement in 1993.

During his medical practice he was an active member of medical organizations at the Harris County, state and national levels and served an appointment to the volunteer faculty of Baylor College of Medicine as Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry.

While living in Tomball with his wife and 4 children, he was a member of and associated with many community organizations and is a member of Tomball Methodist Church, where he served in several leadership capacities. He also founded and served on the Board of Directors of 2 national banks in Tomball spanning 25 years.

Joe's family remembers how diligently he worked maintaining the homestead lawn, rarely missing a Saturday of trimming, edging and mowing. The younger folk had a tough time keeping up with him.

When Joe retired from active medical practice he devoted more time to investments, including farming and cattle operations in Houston County. He enjoyed wearing jeans and boots, traveling to Crockett and meeting with his business partner to tend to the cattle. He occasionally fished on the property too.

Joe and Cora Sue moved from Tomball to The Village of Gleannloch Farms in 2008, where they met and enjoyed many new wonderful friends.

Joe is survived by his son Joe Warren and wife Sue, son Jim Warren, daughter Suzanne Warren and son John Warren and wife Sally. He is also survived by granddaughter Stephanie Wilkinson and husband John and their children Ben and Joseph and granddaughter Dianne English and husband Dan and their children Dan and Sarah.

The family would like to thank the many wonderful caregivers at The Village of Gleannloch Farms Skilled Nursing for their care of Joe these past several years. Your kindness and friendship were an incredible blessing in his life, as well as his family's. We also want to thank Heart to Heart hospice for their caring support of Joe during his final weeks.

Visitation will be at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main, Tomball, Texas 77375 on Monday June 12 from 6-8 p.m. A celebration of Joe's life will be held on Tuesday, June 13 at 2 p.m. at Tomball Methodist Church, 1603 Baker Street, Tomball, Texas 77375 followed by a private internment.
