Joe H. Mixon Sr departed this life on August 17, 2018 at 1:17pm at the age of 92.  Joe was born July 16, 1926 in the Egypt Community in Montgomery County Texas.  He started school in the Oklahoma Community School and later attended Tomball High School and Magnolia High School where he played football for both schools.  Joe volunteered for the United States Navy at the age of 17 and served honorably until the end of World War II.  Joe met and married Miss Helen V. Patzke and they were happily married for 64 years.  He was employed by the Superior Oil Company for 40 years and retired as a construction superintendent. Joe received Holy Baptism into the Lutheran Church on September 10, 1989. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ira A. Mixon Sr and Minnie Lee Tabb Mixon; his loving wife Helen; his brothers Ira A. Mixon Jr, Calvin Mixon, Arthur Lee Mixon, Robert Mixon, George and L.B. Mixon; son-in-law Gene Capps and grandson in law Tracy Barnhill.  He is survived by his daughter Sandra Lynn Capps; son Joe Mixon Jr and wife Nita; Grandchildren, Rhett Capps, Clint Capps and wife Erika, Trey Capps,   Erika Barnhill and Fiance Josh Dewitt, Joann Mixon and Fiance David Goddard; great grandchildren; Kayla Zwerneman and husband Bryan, Raelynn Barnhill, Tyler Barnhill, Calvin Barnhill and Killian Hillridge Goddard, Crystal Capps, Molly Capps and Gage Capps.
