Jose (Joe) Guerra of Houston, TX passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the age of 76. Joe was born on March 19, 1947 in Reynosa, Mexico.

Joe spent his early years in Ft. Worth, TX and Sanger, CA. He then answered Uncle Sam's call to serve in the U.S. Army. A cowboy to the core, Joe spent his early life ranching, riding, participating in rodeos and raising two sons. Joe moved to Houston in 1979. He enjoyed many years attending the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and the Houston Rodeo Cookoffs. He also looked forward to attending the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas every year in December. Joe worked for Hillman Distributing and Hill's Pet Nutrition for over 28 years and retired at the age of 60. He entertained friends and family with his well-timed stories and jokes for every occasion. Joe was a sports fan who enjoyed cheering on the hometown Houston Astros and Houston Texans.

Proceeded in death by his parents Roberto and Rosa Guerra; two brothers, Roberto Guerra and Irineo Guerra and sister Alma Cabrera.

Joe is survived by his wife Wanda Guerra of 24 years, sons; Richard Guerra and wife Cynthia of Houston, TX; Ralph Guerra and wife Tamra of Visalia, CA. Six grandchildren; Selby, Forrest, Jaden, Anthony, Reese and Emmie. Sister; Lupe Garza of Cypress, TX; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe was known for his humor and ever-present fun personality. He was a loving husband and father and a great friend. His winning smile and warm heart will be missed deeply by all who had the privilege of meeting him.
