Joe B. Duncan, Jr was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, colleague and friend. In recent years, he battled serious medical issues with courage and humor. He passed away suddenly a few days before Christmas in 2021 with his loving wife by his side. Joe is survived by his wife Patty, sons Jeff and his partner Kim,Tracy and his wife Christy, grandchildren Lauren, Hailey, Emily, William and Josephine, sister Lana and her husband Craig and brother Wayde.

Joe was born in 1941 in Corpus Christi, TX. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1959. After living in Japan for 2 years, Joe enlisted in the US Army where he reached the rank of Captain. After his military service Joe went on to graduate from The University of Houston.

Joe's career began at University of Texas Health Science Center in their TV production department. He then worked as a cameraman at KHOU-TV in Houston, KENS-TV in San Antonio and then was a producer at CNN in 1980. Joe then began working as freelance cameraman in 1983 in Houston and built a very successful business over the next 27 years.

Joe had a love for flying and got his pilot's license in 1963. Joe's flight log includes time in the Cessna 152,172,182,  and 210. He also flew the  Beech T-34, F-15 fighter, C-130 transport and even The Space shuttle……simulator, that is. Joe ended his flying career with over 3100 hours of flight time. After his retirement, he volunteered at the Gulf Coast Wing of the Commemorative Air Force at Hooks Airport where he worked as a mechanic and flight engineer on the B-17.
