Joe Enrique Avila

1951-2016

Joe Henry (Enrique) Avila passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on June 29, 2016 in Houston, Texas at the age of 64.

Joe is survived by his wife of 40 years, Diana Avila; his daughters, Crystal Avila Eller and Melissa Avila McBee; 2 brothers and 3 sisters all of Houston, Texas; 2 son-in-laws and one granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Avila and Evangelina Garza Avila.

Joe was born on December 1, 1951 in Slaton, Texas to Jose Avila and Evangelina Garza Avila. He married Diana Gleghorn, his one and only love in 1975. They moved to Cypress, Texas in 1979, where they built home and began their family. Joe worked for The Kroger Company for 28 years, then left to begin his journey as a self employed contractor, known as "Joe the Painter."

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 5, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2016 at Klein Funeral Home in Tomball, Texas with a reception to follow.
